NAHS Drummer to Perform with US Army All-American Marching Band

North Andover High School’s own drummer Devam Dhawan was selected to perform with the elite US Army All-American Bowl marching band.

A story about Devam’s prestigious selection was printed in today’s Eagle Tribune. Excerpted from Garrin Marchetti’s Eagle Tribune article:

Over the years, Devam developed an affinity for percussion, choosing drums over the piano and guitar lessons his parents would sign him up for. He started performing in middle school, then joined the high school marching band, and a regional drum and bugle corps later on.

The years of practice have paid off for Devam, now a senior at North Andover High School and a drummer in the school’s marching band. He was awarded an opportunity to perform in one of the most selective bands in country.

In a ceremony on Sept. 28, Devam was introduced as a member of the 2016 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band, an elite group of high school musicians from across the country chosen to perform at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, the country’s premier high school football game. The game takes place in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on Jan. 9 and will be broadcast live on NBC.

Congratulations, Devam!
