BAND PARENTS: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR BUSY WEEKEND – FRIDAY (10/26); SATURDAY (10/27)!!!

PARENTS OF SCARLET KNIGHTS………..IT’S A BUSY WEEKEND AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

The Scarlet Knights football team made it to the playoffs and are hosting game one on Friday night!  The band will be performing in the stands and performing their halftime show.  We  are looking for parent volunteers, podium volunteers, pit equipment volunteers and show equipment volunteers to assist with the band’s half-time show.  Tasks include setting up the bleachers with seat covers before the game (separate check box if you only want to set up the bleacher covers and not volunteer for the entire game), assist with plumes, traffic control at 2 locations, keeping the path in front of the band clear while they play in the stands, crowd control prior to half-time show, helping to set up podiums for half-time show (looking for a few sets of strong shoulders for this!), assisting the pit with their equipment for the half-time show, moving all the show equipment to the field for the half-time show (and returning the show equipment to the school after the half-time show), and helping pick up the bleacher covers after the game.

On Saturday night, the band is heading to NESBA Reading for their last competition prior to the finals!!!!  Parent chaperone volunteers, Podium Volunteers, Pit Equipment Assistant and Show Equipment Volunteers will be needed to assist the band and get the students safely onto the field, ON TIME, for their performance.  Podium Volunteers will help load/unload podiums and place them at the front of the competition field.  Pit Equipment Assistants will assist the students in getting their equipment to the field.  Show Equipment Volunteers will be responsible for moving the show props (10 chess pieces!) to the competition field (tech crew and students will assist in positioning them onto the field).

At this time, we are asking if anyone is available to drive the small equipment truck and be the “pit boss” for the night making sure the trucks get emptied in a timely fashion and the pit students and their equipment leave their warm-up area on time for the field.  If anyone would be able to assist us with this, please email or text me as soon as possible.
