NAMA RAISES $8,718 TOWARD GRAND PIANO PURCHASE for NAMS!

A Middle School student draws the $500 Grand Prize winning raffle ticket for the NAMS piano raffle, as NAMA President Martin McGrath assists and Treasurer Kim Hearst and Music Teacher Chris Nelson look on. Congratulations to Amy and Paul Ferguson of North Andover, and thank you for supporting the raffle!

Mrs. Hearst is very pleased to announce that to date, $8,718.00 have been raised toward the purchase of a Yamaha baby grand piano for the North Andover Middle School’s music department! This campaign has raised funds via the cash raffle and an ongoing individual donations drive (see links on the homepage of this website). The Yamaha is needed to replace a poorly-functioning piano in order to maintain high quality music programs at NAMS, and is expected to cost $10,800.00.

The drawing was held on February 10th during the NAMS Family Night event, where attendees were treated to performances by the school’s select chorus, “A Little Knight Music” directed by Chorus Teacher Andrea Liacos, and by the auditioned Jazz Band directed by Music Teacher Chris Nelson.

Several winning ticket holders, including Cathy Howard of Ipswich, the North Andover Merchants Association, NAMA President Martin McGrath, and the Grand Prize-winning Ferguson family generously donated their winnings back to NAMA. Additionally, the Sargent School Fifth Grade classes of 2014 and 2015 each donated $1,000.00, and $574.00 was raised during the Hot Chocolate House held at the North Andover Middle School on December 18th. Thank you!

NAMA wishes to extend its sincere gratitude to all who participated in this fundraiser and for making it a great success. For information on donating toward the piano purchase, and for supporting all music programs in North Andover, please see the links on the homepage of this site.
