Invitation to Parents of Freshman, Sophomore and Junior Music Students

NAMA invites Parents of Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors in Chorus, Band and Color Guard to serve on our Scholarship Committee! You will enjoy one of NAMA’s most rewarding jobs for a minimal time-commitment. Parents of Seniors may not serve due to conflict of interest.

Description of Responsibilities:
• Determine number of scholarships from our budget of $2,500
• Read inspiring applications, essays, and resumes
• Select scholarship recipients from pool of approximately 10-12 applicants
• Share responsibilities among approximately 5-7 Committee members

Two-Evening Time Commitment (TBD in April, prior to School Vacation):*
1st Evening: review anonymous application packages against scoring rubric
2nd Evening: discuss applications and select recipients
* Anonymous application packages will be emailed to Committee members in advance

Award Deadlines and Presentation Dates:
March 21: Student applications due to NAMA Scholarship Coordinator, Mark Bohrer
April 25: Recipients’ names due to NAHS Guidance Office
June 8: Awards announced at NAHS Scholarship Knight
June TBD: Awards presented at NAMA Awards Banquet
