Volunteers Needed for Oct 3rd Fundraising Event!
Every year NAMA (our music “booster club”) hosts an event at the high school that generates our largest source of revenue for North Andover music programs. This year that event will be held on Saturday October 3rd from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Walsh Stadium at North Andover High School (show moves indoors if weather is bad). We have 15 marching bands scheduled to perform at our school that day at a New England Scholastic Band Association (NESBA) competition. Please mark your calendars!
To run this event we need an army of volunteers. It’s not just a band thing – the money we raise supports ALL music programs, including chorus! Since band students are busy performing, we need chorus students, chorus parents and band parents to help.
Leadership Opportunities
We’re always looking for parents who want to be in charge of something – or who are willing to shadow a current leader and be ready to take over next year. Roles include parking, concessions, gates, “band flow management,” program and advertisements, and 50/50. If you are willing to lead or shadow a leader for the show, there will be 5 planning meetings at the North Andover Police Department Community Room. Please plan to attend as many of those meetings as possible and spend much of the day at the event on October 3rd (approx. 2 pm to close). Leader meetings are scheduled for Thursday 8/20, Wednesday 9/2, Thursday 9/10, Thursday 9/24 and Thursday 10/1 at 7 PM at the NAPD Community Room, 1475 Osgood Street.
General Volunteer Opportunities
While leaders are important, we need only a few – but we need a TON of volunteers. You can help all day or for just a few hours – we’re very flexible! The show runs from 4 to 8; some volunteers will be needed a little earlier/later. Two Volunteer Meetings / Training sessions will be held at NAHS: Tuesday September 15th at 7:30 and Saturday September 19th at 11 AM. Just choose one session to get work instructions, meet up with your Leader and be able to hit the ground running on October 3rd!
