Introducing NAHS’s New Band Director: Mr. Justin Smalley

Mr. Justin Smalley has been hired as NAHS’s band director. Mr. Smalley received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education at Syracuse University with concentrations in conducting, brass, pep bands, and marching bands. He received his Masters Degree in Music Education at University of Connecticut with concentration in music education, conducting and brass. Prior to accepting his new position at NAHS, Smalley was the Coordinator of the Music Dept., band director/music teacher at Southbridge High School. Prior to that, he was the music teacher at Everett High School. He was also the Director of the UConn Men’s and Women’s Pep Bands, and the Assistant Director of the Marching Band. His primary instrument is trumpet. Mr. Smalley has already joined NAHS at this week’s band camp.
